Corruption in Nepal

Corruption,abuse of entrusted authority for personal gain, is a scourage that no society is free of and it holds true of Nepal. Realizing its ill effets ,around 1768 AD, it was referred as the worst crime. Bribe givers/ takers were taken as the worst ciminals of lthe lmation. Corruption as a state crome was bigger problem during the Rana rule from 1851 as then ruler turned state coffers into personal property .Only after the dawn of democracy in 1951, legal provisions and institutions were set up to combat corruption. read more..

Any Nepalese citizen can become a JGAC member irrespective of religion, caste, community and sex. JGAC's mandate is for total voluntarism from its member. Voluntarism is taken as a mission and commitment.JGAC believes voluntarism is necessary for organization like it to   attain credibility and clout in an environment civil society actors are often deemed suspect by ordinary people.

The constitution of jgac has been amended to accommodate institutional members in order  to network with partners and stakeholders with common  objectives and commitments to amplify the catalytic effect.

The global trand on  membership is for a smaller but committed group to maintain integrity in its movements.
